Sound Familiar?
You found the dress. You love it.
Then someone asked, "What are you wearing under it?" And you didn't know.
You've seen the photos: a strap that peeks out, a line across the back, a face that looks white in the flash.
You don't want to find out at your last fitting. Tap your dress, not you. We'll show you what goes under it, how to glow on camera, and how to look like yourself in every picture.

Add-On For Your Fitted Dress
A Smooth Bodysuit or Shapewear
Your dress hugs your curves. A smooth layer under it keeps every line soft in photos, so you stop tugging and start enjoying the day.
Pillar Two
The Glow
Four things to tell your makeup artist, so your skin looks like you in every photo.
No SPF in your face makeup on the day. Some SPF and mineral powders bounce the flash back and leave a white cast in pictures. Wear sunscreen on your body, and ask your artist for no-SPF foundation and powder for your face.
Test your trial with the flash on. Take one photo in window light, one outside and one with flash. If you look paler than you are, swap that product now, not on the day.
Blot first. Powder second. Blotting papers lift shine without the dry, flat look too much powder gives. Put them in your touch-up bag.
Waterproof mascara. You will cry. Happy tears are beautiful. Black streaks are not.
Pillar Three
The Photos
From Tatyana Zadorin, who photographs Picture Your Vows weddings.
Fabric matters more than cut. Silk and crepe hold light. Heavy satin can blow out in direct sun and go flat indoors. Lace looks beautiful up close and turns to texture from far away, so we shoot it both ways.
Ivory over stark white. Pure white photographs cooler next to skin than most brides expect.
Bring a second pair of shoes. Not for comfort. For the pictures where you are really laughing.
"But..."
Will it stay put all day?
Pick a style with a grip band or a longline shape, and wear it for an hour at home before the wedding. Sit, hug, dance. If it moves at home, it will move at the reception.
What if I'm a bigger size?
Go longline, or a bustier, for more hold. Your seamstress can also sew cups right into the dress. Ask at your next fitting.
When should I buy it?
Before your first fitting. Bridal shops ask you to bring your wedding-day bra and shoes to every fitting, so the dress is fitted over what you will really wear.
